My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary yesterday. I truly can't believe that it has been ten years. I hate to be cliche but it "does feel like yesterday." And as of Halloween we will be together for 14 years. Time truly has flown.
We didn't really do anything special for us. However, we did do something special as a family. Originally, we were supposed to meet some college friends up in the Poconos last weekend. Against my better judgement, I started telling my daughter about it. Needless to say she was amped about going. Well, the whole thing fell through for a myriad of reasons. So we started looking for something, at least similar, to be able to do as a family. That's when I remembered going to Greenbrier State Park when I was a kid. I went there once in elementary school with a childhood friend and his Mom. I told my wife, and we told the kids. They were so excited! We left for Greenbrier in the mid-morning. It took forever to pack (cooler, chairs, towels, sand toys, etc.), but we made great time with driving. The kids had a blast! We all swam, played in the sand, and even went out on a paddle boat. It may not have been a classy restaurant, but we even stopped for dinner at the Cracker Barrel on the way home. I couldn't have asked for a better anniversary...
