Donations to the Art Room
There are often times that I walk in the Art Room in the morning, and I'm greeted by bags. These bags are often full of scrap material, papers, or supplies that someone thinks we could use. I'm very grateful for the thought, and often can use the things donated. However, there are things that I cannot use for various reasons. You'll find a list below of the things that I can use most often. And if you find yourself dropping anything off, please leave a note with your name on the stuff so that I can properly thank you. If you have any other questions about things to donate, please use the contact form or email me. Thanks.
8oz. yogurt containers (like these, preferably with lids, but not necessary)
Legos
AquaNet hairspray (aerosol only)
Newspaper (nothing glossy, like ads, sales papers, etc.)
Patterned papers (cannot be wrinkled or taped)
Magazines (please review content and remove address labels)
Children's books about Art or Artists
-I try and keep a vast library of books in the Art room for kids to read. These books are based on artists, art history, or vocabulary/concepts that we discuss in class. If you're interested, I've set up a wishlist of more books that I would eventually like to obtain for use in the room.
I cannot use...
Monitors
Handheld electronics (cell phones, iPods, GPS, digital cameras, etc.)
Printer Cartridges
Material scraps (tapestry pieces, upholstery fabric, etc.)
Household paint
Rubber Cement
National Geographic Magazines (sometimes the content is just too risky)
