Chad Taylor and Me Wow! Well had the chance tonight to see The Gracious Few again! Luckily my folks were in town and could watch the kids so my wife and I could have a night out. We caught the band at the Bourbon Street Ballroom (formerly Hammerjacks) in Baltimore. It was a great show, and for a bargain of $10! Yeah, I said $10! You can't find that anymore with live music, at all. The openers, yeah, not so great at all. However, The Gracious Few were awesome! What a show! Only a few times have I seen a concert where it breaks in the middle of the show (or anywhere in the show) for an acoustic set, or something similar. The band did an entire set that they called "the front porch," where it was just them in a semi-circle with very little plugged in, doing some stripped down blues, etc. Wild! I took my Live/Chad Gracey drumsticks that I caught in the air at a show a few years ago to get signed. And I had a chance to talk with the band again, and so did Melissa. Great music, great night!

Today I had the opportunity to see an in-store performance of a new band, The Gracious Few. The band was formed out of the ashes of two of my favorite bands of the 90's, Live and Candlebox. They released their new cd and to help promote it, they were doing a special performance at the Sound Garden in Fells Point. It was phenomenal. They played about four songs, all acoustic. You could tell that they were a little cramped, playing in such small quarters (the drummer played a box), but the music was great. Afterward, all of the band members milled around the store. We had the chance to talk with them, and get their signatures on their new cd, but old ones as well. |
