Especially when you never had the chance to in the first place. I lost a great person today in Alice Snider. She was a student of mine in my Sunday class. Yes, I teach on Sundays too. I teach a group of senior citizens at Heartlands in Ellicott City. She was there from the very beginning, every Sunday and didn't miss any until recently. She was eager, excited, talented, and made me laugh a great deal. I could talk to her for hours if I allowed myself to. She knew things about my children, and would ask about them all of the time. When she found out I was accepted to my workshop in MA last summer, she gave me a list of places that I had to visit. Even when I knew she wasn't feeling well, I truly thought she was getting better, and would keep my fingers crossed that she would return to class. I will miss her dearly, as much as any relative that I have ever lost. Her light shined brightly, and the rest of the world just darkened a bit from her passing...
