Art Museums and Galleries
I've always told the students in class that there is nothing like seeing a piece of art in person. And it is simply stunning to see their eyes a glow with excitement and awe when we go on the 4th grade field trip every year. Students have asked me in the past specifically where certain artworks are located that we have studied in class. So I thought it would be helpful to have a webpage of many (if not close to all) of the museums and galleries in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Below you'll find links to art museums/galleries, categorized by region. This is a rather large sampling of the places you can find locally. Most of them are larger public museums, rather than smaller private galleries. If you're planning a trip and looking for art museums/galleries to visit while traveling, you may also check this site to help you out.
(Please remember when opening links you'll be on the
internet. Thus, you may want to review website content before using
with children.)
